Cassia mimosoides var. nomame:

Cassia nomame (not to be confused with Cassia angustifolia or Senna, which has laxative properties) contains a high concentration of flavonoids, catechins and polyphenols, including luteolin – capable of inhibiting an enzyme, pancreatic lipase enzyme, responsible for fat metabolism. Inhibition of pancreatic lipase prevents the hydrolysis and fat metabolisation and subsequently their assimilation. The phytotherapeutic effects, backed up by various scientific studies, have highlighted its anti-obesity properties. This is due to its capacity as an enzyme inhibitor (lipase-inhibition) reducing fat absorption in the intestine and therefore eliminating it without ever being assimilated. It is also very useful for normalising the metabolism of circulating triglycerides and cholesterol, as well as having positive effects on hepatic steatosis and fat accumulation in the kidneys and heart.

Citrus Aurantium var. amara, contains Synephrine (a sympathomimetic amine) stimulating the sympathetic nervous system, induceing an increase in cellular activity and basal metabolism and as such also calorie burn-off. It stimulates beta-3 receptors in adipose tissue and liver. Synephrine's slimming properties also stem from its stimulatory effect on thermogenesis (generating body heat = increased calorie burn-off) and lipolysis (converting fat to energy). Synephrine helps reduce appetite and excites basal metabolic rate, increasing energy burn-off at rest. Metabolic arousal is related not only to an increase in heart rate but also an increase in thermogenesis (heat production) through the stimulation of brown adipose tissue.

Caffeine is primarily responsible for Guarana's metabolic action: causing an increase in thermogenesis (i.e. using fats to heat the body) and increased activity of the enzyme lipase.
