The neurosedative and spasmolytic mechanism of action may partly be attributed to the antithyroid activity, especially antithyrotropin (TSH). The essence of Melissa acts at the level of the limbic lobe of the CNS, which is responsible for coordinating vegetative functions as well as providing protective action against abnormal stimuli coming from the periphery, ensuring a sedative activity useful in neurovegetative dystonias.

Rhodiola:

The roots of Rhodiola have an adaptogenic, anti-stress action, generally enhancing learning and memory capabilities, well known in Siberian folk medicine. These properties have been scientifically proven and are attributable to the presence of phenylpropanoid glycosides, particularly salidroside and rosavin. Rhodiola produces an increase in the plasma concentration of beta-endorphins capable of preventing hormonal variations indicative of stress.
