Properties of natural elements
Altea
Althea is a plant of the Malvaceae family. The root extracts contain starch, pectins, mucilages, sugars, fats and tannins. In particular, the mucilages give the plant its properties emollient, soothing and protective for the mucosal membranes. For this reason it is indicated in the treatment of all forms of inflammation, such as sore throats, abscesses, stomatitis and gingivitis rhamnogalacturonan acts on serotoninergic 5HT2 receptors, inhibiting them.

Erisimus
Erisimo is a plant of the Brassicaceae family, known as "the singer's plant" for its anti-inflammatory and mucolytic properties in the respiratory system. In particular, its use is recommended in the treatment of throat inflammations, in cases of aphonia and dysphonia (lowering or temporary loss of voice) resulting from laryngitis, pharyngitis, and tracheitis. Clinical studies attribute these properties to the presence of mucilages and sulfur compounds, which give erisimo fluidifying and expectorant activity on bronchial secretions.

Ginger
Ginger is a herbaceous plant of the Zinzigiberaceae family. The dried rhizome is the part containing the active ingredients of the plant: the essential oil (composed mainly of zingiberene), gingerols and shogaols (mainly responsible for the pungent flavour), resins and mucilages. Clinical studies have shown that gingerols and shogaols are mainly responsible for the digestive activity of ginger, acting on the 5HT3 receptors present at both the gastric and intestinal levels. They therefore stimulate gastric secretions and promote their emptying. They are also excellent anti-inflammatories: they inhibit the inflammatory cascade, blocking some enzymes (LOX and COX), which are important for the synthesis and release of prostaglandins.

Polygala
Polygala is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Polygalaceae family. It is known for its properties as a laxative, expectorant, emollient and stomachic. These important therapeutic activities are due to the presence of polygalin, saponins, tannins, mucilage and heteroside gualterine. Administered in therapeutic doses, it is commonly used as an expectorant, therefore excellent in cases of cough, whooping cough, colds, asthma, bronchitis, respiratory diseases. Polygala also stimulates diuresis and sweating, and this helps in case of fever. Polygala also has a laxative action and is therefore useful in the presence of intestinal problems, helping thus the elimination of waste harmful to the organism.
